BIO 355 - Biochemical and Molecular Foundations of Cancer

(4 credits)
An introduction to the biochemical foundations and molecular biology of cancer. The focus of this course will be on the cellular alterations that enable the development and progression of cancer. Specific attention will be given to relevant protein pathways, metabolic alterations, genetic modifications, and the subsequent impact on cellular behavior. Specific case studies of cancer types and emerging therapeutics will also be discussed.

Prerequisites: CHE111 & CHE112 and BIO122 or BIO222; BIO202 or BIO327 recommended.
