Over 87 percent of Northwestern’s students live on campus and say living with your best friends is the time of your life. Students praise Northwestern’s rigorous academics but add that a lot of their learning becomes meaningful in conversations with roommates and friends in the residence hall, cafeteria and athletic arena. Your Northwestern friends will include faculty and staff as well as students. And your social life will include concerts, dances, and NWC traditions like “Clash of the Classes” and “Ballyhoo.” What are those? You’ll have to enroll to find out.

A small campus with a large worldview

Northwestern promotes multicultural understanding by welcoming international students and by encouraging students to study abroad. Twenty-two nations are represented among NWC students, and a quarter of our faculty and staff have lived in other countries. Students can choose from semester or summer study abroad opportunities in places like Australia, Costa Rica, Egypt, England, India and Russia. Our musical groups and sports teams travel overseas to perform, compete and serve. And every year, more than 200 students participate in service projects in other states and nations.

Valuable and affordable

Northwestern is one of the few colleges in the nation to provide its students with a tuition guarantee. That means tuition, room and board your senior year will be the same as what it was as a freshman. With our guarantee comes an education recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its excellence. We’re also consistently listed by an independent research firm as one of the nation’s best college buys. Ninety-nine percent of Northwestern students receive financial aid, and while individual awards depend on FAFSA results and family resources, the average financial aid package is more than $16,000 per student.

You’ll graduate from Northwestern broadly educated, yet prepared for a specific career-with the critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills necessary for an ever-changing workplace. On average, 96 percent of our students find employment or are in graduate schools within six months of graduation. Recent alumni have gone to graduate school at MIT, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Yale and have been hired by employers that include Boeing, Christianity Today, the Minneapolis Public Schools, Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical and Wells Fargo Financial.
